Over the past twelve years, I have produced quality web sites, various graphic designs, Flash animation, GUI's and more. Below are examples of the web sites I have created more recently, but much of my earlier work is unavailable, because as over the years some sites were deleted or changed.
This sampling is to show the variety as well as the range of my work.
I was thrown into the fire and baptized as a professional Web Designer with this position. Syntrillium was a privately owned, small, but extremely successful software company. I was hired to redesign their entire 200+ page web presence from scratch. As the leader in audio software, they had a huge amount of traffic. It was incredibly rewarding to build the site and watch the company grow in sales and personnel. I started with a computer in a closet (literally), and eventually was promoted to Web Master with a staff of two Developers. The sales department and online community grew to the point where Adobe Software offered to purchase the company and convert the product into Adobe's premier audio editing software, Audition.
For search engines (SEO) and visitor's accessibility, it made sense to utilize the domain with the software product's name as a landing page. This was a data-driven, dynamic site that reflected their product information, latest marketing and news.
Loopology was purchased by Adobe when they bought Syntrillium. Syntrillium launched a new product line to augment the success of the latest release of Cool Edit Pro. The new product allowed customers to download and purchase audio loops online and I created the site with a look that had more of an edge. I also developed a separate online community and monthly promotions with prizes. This was wildly successful and a lot of fun.
Montreal-based Surfware Labs asked me to design the site but they wanted to provide the content. The requirements were to make the site simple, clean and easy for visitors to learn about the software, as well as purchase it. This was a challenging project due to budget constraints, but it was fun because the client allowed me to run free with the design. He also had me create his logo and branding.
Speaking of diverse clients, I think Schreiner's Sausage is as entertaining as they come. This established, local family sausage company had their logo for so long that it had to be used and incorporated into the design. Using their logo as well as the actual physical structure of their building - the faded red paint and wood grain - I wanted this site to really reflect the company's personality and charm. Many photos were used (considering the size of the site) and there's something inherently funny about sausage, so I made sure a little humor was thrown into the design as well.
From dentists to bakeries to feather dusters, as a web designer you just never know who you will be designing for. Given unlimited time and money, most designers would go hog-wild with their perfectionism. Alas, Dust With The Best was one of those budget sites. I wanted to make it clear what the product was, so I incorporated the feather dusters into the design.
With Blue Burrito Grille, I came up with a way to invite visitors to explore the web site. I did this by creating a game where people would find a burrito on each page. Once one was found, a page would come up and read, "You Found One of Five Burritos!". Once all of the burritos were found, they were given a coupon to print. The site was built based on their logo and although I am proud of the design, the promotion was something that I enjoyed the most. This was a clean looking site and reflected the simple, healthy menu.
The owner of Fairy Cakes Bakery had a tight budget and guidelines which included a Tinkerbell-like logo and bright pink color motif. This wonderful, family-owned corner bakery wanted an informational page and that's what I did. Fairy Cakes, Mmmmm...
